A plot of undeveloped alluvial soil stretches along the Moldau between the districts of Karlin to the south and Liben to the west. Old Karlin is almost exclusively residential while Liben is an urban district with a high degree of functional mixes. The existing typologies and building densitiesof Karlin and Liben are analysed and interweaved in the new development. The inner zone between the districts is occupied by solitary buildings. Their position allows for a later increase in building density. A purely residential area is planned on an existing peninsula to the north-east of the planning area.
